Legendary vocal talent Thurl Ravenscroft, best known as Tony the Tiger in Kellogg's Frosted Flakes commercials, has died. He was 91.

Disney fans know Ravenscroft from his work on such Disney attractions as Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, the Enchanted Tiki Room and others. He also contributed his vocal talent to several classic Disney films.

Ravenscroft is survived by two children, Ron and Nancy, and four grandchildren.

Australia's The Age mentions in passing that Geoffrey Rush is back in his homeland "from the Caribbean where he is filming the sequel to the film Pirates of the Caribbean," confirming his participation in the sequels. (thanks to contributor Diane Roone for the tip)

LaughingPlace.com reports today that David Caouette has joined Disney in the role of vice president of corporate communications. According to the press release, Caouette will "participate in developing and executing the communications strategies for various issues and initiatives, including financial reporting, legislative and regulatory issues, corporate reputation management and executive communications. Mr. Caouette also will work closely with Disney's businesses, including Parks and Resorts, Media Networks, Consumer Products and Studio Entertainment."
