Theme park updates from around the globe:

*Hong Kong Disneyland celebrates its first birthday this month, with somewhat less-than-hoped-for attendance figures. The park is expected to add several significant attractions in an effort to boost its numbers.

*The four theme parks at Florida's Walt Disney World resort are in the process of replacing their biometric finger scanning equipment with fingerprint readers. The equipment links ticket media to users' fingerprints in an attempt to reduce or eliminate fraudulent use of admission tickets.

*EuroDisney SCA has released a statement on the recent discord between management and resort photographers. The statement can be found at this link. (requires Acrobat Reader)

*Tokyo Disneyland Resort's DisneySea park officially opened the third incarnation of the Tower of Terror attraction with surprisingly little fanfare on Monday. The attraction carries both a new design and a new storyline, representing the first departure from the "Twilight Zone" theme used in both the Orlando and Anaheim resorts. Al Lutz's MiceAge (click to visit) has a fairly detailed look at the new attraction.

Speaking of the Tower of Terror, ServiceElevator.com has begun operation. The site is an unofficial tribute to the attraction and will be expanding in the future.
