According to Daily Variety and the Hollywood Reporter, Tony Scott is in talks to direct the romantic thriller "Deja Vu." "Pirates of the Caribbean" producer Jerry Bruckheimer will produce the film for Disney Pictures.
Terry Rossio and Bill Marsilii's screenplay, reportedly purchased by Disney for a seven-figure sum, involves an FBI agent who travels back in time to keep a woman from being murdered. In the course of the story, the agent falls in love with the woman he's charged with saving.
"Pirates of the Caribbean" script writer Rossio and his Pirates writing partner Ted Elliott are slated to be the executive producers with Jerry Bruckheimer Films' Mike Stenson and Chad Oman.
Variety reports that Bruckheimer hopes to start shooting in late summer or early fall of this year. (variety.com and hollywoodreporter.com)
