The Fog, John Carpenter's 1980 horror feature, is being remade by Revolution Studios with Rupert Wainright directing Cooper Layne's script. Selma Blair stars as Stevie Wayne, the role played by Adrienne Barbeau in the original film, and Rade Serbedzija has been cast in the role of the priest. The film's plot revolves around a century-old secret that brings a ghostly ship's crew to a small seaside town to exact revenge for a wrong done in the past. The film is tentatively set to open 14 October 2005.
