4/06/2006

ComingSoon.net is reporting that the title of the as-yet-unnamed third film in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy is "Pirates of the Caribbean: World's End." At press time, we were unable to confirm this with studio representatives.

"World's End" is one of the working titles that have been rumored to be under consideration for some time. Others include "Uncharted Waters" and "Calypso's Fury."

As reported on our message forums recently, the Disneyland resort will play host to a special Pirates of the Caribbean event, Pirates of the Caribbean: A Moonlit Voyage. The event will take place on July 6 and includes a midnight screening of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" as well as the opportunity to purchase limited edition event merchandise.

Three ticket levels will be available beginning April 24: the "Flying Dutchman" package, at US $525 per ticket, the "Wicked Wench" package, at $450 per ticket, and the "Black Pearl" package, at $235 per ticket.

Full details, including details on the differences between packages, can be found at this link

Ed note: For those of you who have never attended one of these events, available ticket quantities at each level are limited and tend to sell out quickly.

Five individuals will receive awards of $100,000 each at Disney's Animal Kingdom tonight in recognition of their conservation efforts. The $500,000 total awarded tonight will bring the Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund's total contributions to the $10 million mark.

To be honored at tonight's ceremony are:

John Cleese, founder, Conservation Matters
Ian Douglas-Hamilton, founder, Save the Elephants
Jane Goodall, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute
Wangari Maathai, founder of East Africa's Green Belt Movement
Isabella Rossellini, the Andean Cat Alliance

"We selected these special individuals because each brings a personal passion to studying and saving endangered species and lands," Animal Kingdom vice president Beth Stevens said.
